Robin Swaisland - President
Robin is a very experienced Project Manager and Management Consultant from the UK who has been living and working in Grenada for most of the last 13 years. He is a Chartered Engineer and a Fellow of the Institute of Consulting.
Since being in Grenada, Robin has worked on various reform programmes and hurricane recovery projects through which he forged strong working relationships with government ministers, senior public officers and business leaders in Grenada. He worked with Camper Nicholson on the acquisition and development of the Port Louis Marina.
His ability to relate to and communicate effectively with all levels of communities has enabled him to achieve significant success in his projects over the past 18 years. He is a problem solver, a team-player, and is not afraid to take decisions.
James Pascal - Vice President
James Pascall arrived in Grenada in 1998 as the base manager for a large charter company having spent several years working in the yachting industry in the UK, Mediterranean and the British Virgin Islands. In 2000 James established Horizon Yacht Charters in Grenada. The company is now the longest established in Grenada with an additional base in St Vincent and operations have expanded into yacht management, sales and brokerage. James is the Vice President of MAYAG.
Danny Donelan - Secretary
Danny was the Assistant Manager at Port Louis Marina in Grenada for the last 10 years but has recently opened his own yacht charter company Savvy Grenada Sailing Charters (www.sailingsavvy.com) where he puts on charters in Grenada and the Grenadines for guests aboard his 43ft locally built Petite Martinique Sloop
He races extensively all over the Caribbean from Grenada to Carriacou, to St Lucia to Bequia to Antigua and St Barths. Every year Savvy takes part in a UNESCO sponsored Market Day in Gustavia where they bring art, craft, Grenada Chocolates and a variety of goods from local artisans to St Barths to sell and reconnect with the old time traditions of using sail for trade. Savvy uses local fishermen and boat-builders as their crew to help give a true authentic experience to anyone sailing on Savvy. He is also a Director on the GTA and an avid sportsman.
Rosetta Weston - Treasurer
Rosetta Weston has worked internationally for more than three decades in senior management and operational support roles across several key business sectors that include banking, healthcare, information technology and telecommunications. Rosetta’s clients have benefited from her professional accounting background and her diverse international experience.
In recent years, Rosetta has brought her talents and skills to Grenada, working as a tax consultant for the Ministry of Finance and, for the past three years, working as operations manager for one of the largest boatyards in the Southern Caribbean (Grenada Marine).
Rudolf (Rolf) Hoschtialek – Media and PR
Rolf is an astute entrepreneur who is fiercely loyal to his “Isle of Spice”, Grenada. After graduating from the DeVry Institute of Technology in the late 80s, Rolf began flexing his entrepreneurial muscle and co-founded Career Development Services, a human-resource development & employment agency. This was followed in the 90s by his own initiative, Concepts Advertising Inc., a full-service, marketing and advertising agency. Rolf sets a premium standard for service above all else. As a result, Concepts Advertising has become a multiple award-winning agency with a wealth of professional experience in the areas of marketing, advertising, business re-development, graphic design, corporate imaging, web development and publishing.
An advocate for all things community-spirited, Rolf plays a strong leadership role in many non-profit organisations. His experiences in hospitalities, marketing, corporate communications, trade negotiations and community service, along with relationships developed throughout the Caribbean brings an essential contribution to MAYAG.
Jason Fletcher – Training
Jason was born and raised on Grenada and his love of boating started when he participated in sailing programs run by Grenada Yacht Club. After school he bought himself a small fishing boat and started fishing commercially which led him into selling fish then building and buying commercial fishing trawlers. He found himself selling fuel and offering general services to visiting yachts, all the while running his own fleet of fishing boats. After a few deals on marine properties fell through, he found a perfect spot in St. Davids and along with some close friends and family members he set up Grenada Marine in 1998. Now Grenada Marine is one of the leading boatyards in Grenada offering full services to visiting yachts. He is renowned for his professionalism and his love of sailing and fishing.
Patrick Brathwaite – Marine Protected Areas
Patrick is Grenadian born and a sailing enthusiast. His interest in sailing is more than social. He is manager of Island Water World in Grenada and with several investments in the marine sector (Grenada Marine and Shadowfax), he sees the future of sailing and Grenada as one.
Karen Stiell – Regattas
Karen is the Regatta Manager for Grenada Sailing Week. She has lived in Grenada since 2003 and brings a wealth of project management / consultancy experience gained during her time working for a major international HR consultancy in the United Kingdom. She consults with a variety of government and private sector organisations in Grenada, as well as running a tourist business, and website design agency. She is passionate about yachting, sailing and the marine industry in Grenada.
Nicholas George - Security
Nicholas moved to Grenada at the tender age of 8 along with his mother from the neighboring island of Trinidad. Since then he has considered Grenada home.
His wealth of experience in retail within Grenada, lead him to quickly become the store manager for Budget Marine, a position he has held since 2003. He is very active within the Marine Industry with specific emphasis placed on Youth Sailing and Sports Fishing. Nicholas currently holds board positions on the Grenada Sailing Association and also the Marine and Yachting Association of Grenada. He is a former board member of the Grenada Chamber of Industry and Commerce and still assists when requested. Nicholas is actively involved and supports many marine related studies/projects and gets great joy from lending a helping hand to the industry as a whole.
Dawn Decoteau - Maritime Law
Dawn is an experienced legal pratitioner with practices in both the UK and Grenada. She is an expert in Maritime Law which was her specialism when studying for her Masters. She is an asset to the MAYAG board.
